From the inception of Iowa Through The Lens I wanted this to be a community of like-minded individuals. Of course we are all individuals with our own thoughts, dreams, and artful eye on the state of Iowa. It does the heart good to hear the pleasure of everyone coming together, sharing, and learning.
This brings me to my point, sharing. Our state is the most altered state in the union from its original form. Prairies covered over 75% of its landscape. With that change and others it affected our beauty, water quality, and wildlife. Yes, we help feed the world and provide thousands of jobs in the agricultural sector. I like to think we can help restore many areas because we have become more efficient and provide other forms of revenue through travel, tourism and recreation.
I want ITTL to grow in camaraderie, education, and mutual love and support of our state. This is why I’ve asked the Iowa Association of County Conservation Boards to partner with us to help support small and large projects all across this wonderful state. Checks can be made out to Through The Lens. Also, all profits will be donated to either this non-profit or other Iowa state conservation entities.
Join me as we grow our connection through photography and this great state of Iowa.
In months and years to come as we grow I plan on connecting those who are interested in learning more about photography and making Iowa a better place to live and play all while helping our environment restore itself.
